Re: [Tyndale STEP - Programming] Hosting the timeline

An FTP server is alright, but what we really need is just a normal server that sits on the internet, that doesn't have firewalls. Like that we could set up a URL such as

http://demo.step.org:81/step or something similar. I own burrell.me.uk so we could have step.burrell.me.uk, or step.tyndalehouse.com or something like that... or if port 80 is free, then demo.step.org.

We just need a box that sits on the outside world.

Both sounds good - a simple download of an executable,
and a separate source for developers.
Do you want FTP details for the Tyndale webserver?
We don't have a good setup for developers, but I expect Troy does.

If Troy describes his server as a 'big iron', I guess the
Tyndale webserver is 'a big ironing board'.
Not super fast, but we have a contract for unlimited space!

BTW - the Timeline data should be marked as (C) Colin Bell &
TyndaleHouse.com 2009
