I've set up a series of blog sites so that we can keep a better eye on emails, and manage our addresses better.
Programming
Geography
History
Translations
and some we haven't started yet:
Publications
Presentation
Language
The Programming group has been talking to each other a lot by email, but it is useful even for one-person groups to have a place where they can store and look up previous emails.
Instead of emailing to me or any other member in your group, send your email to the group address,
eg TyndaleSTEP.Tran@Blogger.com,
and your email will automatically be added to the top of the blog,
and a copy will be sent to each member of the group, including you (and me).
When you reply, it is best to reply to the blogger address,
but if you forget, and simply hit "Reply", the post should go to the blog anyway
(I've set up some filters which will recognise the subject sent from the blog).
The blogs are all owned by a Gmail account: ID= TyndaleSTEP PW= WilliamSTEP
Feel free to log in at Gmail.com or Blogger.com and change things,
including the email address you prefer to use.
Upload documents to Google Documents at http://docs.google.com
or as attachments to STEP+Project-07164170635895053130-B343rcc3@prod.writely.com
They will become documents at docs.google.com - ID= TyndaleSTEP PW= WilliamSTEP
Documents loaded there have a permanent URL and we can all edit them.
See eg http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dgx24bfk_0c8wkqwd2 - a largely empty test document
We can edit these documents like a Wiki, because
they can link to each other, and they have unlimited revision history.
Or, if you have files other than documents, you can save them at the TyndaleSTEP group at
http://groups.google.com/group/tyndalestep/files?hl=en
One important file there is the STEP TimeSheet for claiming your £7/hr payments.
When filling this is, remember that not everything applies to you (eg don't bother listing 'materials')
Please add your postal address so we can send a cheque to you,
and an electronic signature (even a typed one) should be OK (lets see if the Accounts complain).
Email it to me, and I'll print it and counter-sign it in ink (accountants love paper and ink).
Thanks for all your work
- David IB
