I wrote it last week in wiki format, and just pasted it in this morning. It would be good to give a complete picture of what we're aiming for, not just from a feature point of view, but also the intention to distribute, the availability of data which wouldn't be commercially available, etc.

I think you can sign up on the wiki for a username and then start adding/editing the page yourself :)

Very clear. I'll probably fiddle with the wording re features and leave the programming side completely to you.
As you said in a previous email, it would be good to have a short list of discrete components or tasks which people could put their name to.
