I was just wondering about the following approach for trying to suggest to the user to look at some of the related content.... We could give him the option to display in line with the passage where there might be a link to a map, or a timeline element, etc. So for e.g.
So for e.g. adding a little map next to a place, or a book next to something where we might have a related article. And then if there are multiple ones, a kind of screwdriver (or another tool icon) that provides a context menu. We'd want to find a similar thing for references that relate to multiple verses, like a timeline event, maybe next to the verse number.
In that way, we could probably do away with the menus and having a part of the page allocated to the article, but instead either having a popup with the article in it, or a collapsible panel on the right of the page appear and display next to the passage. That collapsible div would possibly also contain a list of related articles etc. So similar to what we have at the moment i guess, without the drop downs, and the part on the right being either a list of related topics (but having it much thinner) until someone clicks something in the list or in the passage at which point it would grow in size.
Anyway, just a thought...
Chris
