Re: [Tyndale STEP - Programming] STEP resources...

Sounds good. Let's just remember that iphone's don't support GEARS at the moment, but on the other hand they support standard web pages! Let's also that any phone with a decent browser is going to be connected to the internet most of the time... (or maybe that's just my assumption).

I'm at a stage where I need a dataset... I ll send a screenshot today of what I've got, but I've the screenshot (without the timelines) from the Word document, fully functional as far as the scripture stuff goes... It would be good therefore to know where to store the data, so that I don't need to rewrite our dataaccess stuff and the database schemas and all that...

It would therefore be ideal to decide on where and how we will store our data. My feeling is still that Java is a commonly used platform and a JavaDB would be the most portable, but I agree we need to continue looking at other stuff in parallel. Also from the JSword dev lists, it seemed unlikely that JSword if we're going to use it is going to work on AppEngine

I'll also add it to svn soon so that everyone can have a play around.
Cheers
Chris

David, this looks like a good plan.
We need to keep the 'other' platforms and the normal PC/Mac/Linux
platforms as close as possible,
so the main issue will always be how to fit one set of code into
another platform,
without becoming two projects.
Or, it if does become two projects, we need to make sure they share
as much code as possible,
and at least utilise exactly the same datasets.

Your other news was Interesting too!
